A Study on the Needs of Occupational Therapist for Cognitive Activity Program

Abstract
Objective : This study was conducted to find out the awareness, implementation status, and demands of the occupational therapist working at nursing homes and nursing facilities in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Busan, and to find out how to promote the cognitive stimulation activities as an expert.

Methods : This study was conducted to occupational therapist with experience in the cognitive stimulation program for dementia patients at Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan nursing homes and nursing facilities that agreed to participate in the research from November 4 to November 25, 2019 and was investigated through an online questionnaire. The data analysis is based on frequency and percentage of the data collected.

Results : The survey also showed that 14 people (50%) were I know well of occupational therapists,
while 24 people(85.7%) were It really is of the survey on the need for human cognitive activity. The occupational therapists demands for the cognitive activity program were also found to be 12 I know well (42.9%) of the occupational therapists roles and 26 (92.9%) of the Very important (92.9%) of the survey on their importance. However, the survey on whether experts leading clinical cognitive activities include occupational therapists (14.3%) and 24 No (85.7%), respectively, and 14 (50%) were found to be care helper respectively.14people (50%) of them are yes and no.

Conclusion : This study aimed to found out the awareness, executional status, and demands of the cognitive activity program among the Occupational therapists.
